Banteay Srei is the most spectacular masterpiece of architecture and sculpture in the 10th century. It is also considered the peak of art in South East Asia. The person in charge of this monument was a Hinduism priest named Yajnavaraha.
This architectural complex is in the three rounds of citadel and three layers of gopura. Between the middle and outer citadels is the big lake. These monuments were built in sandstone of pink, which created the beautiful and extricate space.
Separated in the East North and 20km from the middle of Angkor, Banteay Srei always attracts the visitors due to the skilled level of sculpture and architecture. The scale of it is not large, but the structure of establishment is quite grandiose. The Banteay Srei is the developments from pre-Angkor of the architecture of bricks to the Angkor period with the architecture of stone.
